Hi, I’m Marie-Liesse.
The work
I’m a product designer, and what I like most about this job is going to watch people use what we’ve made. Spending time with them, working out where it snags, and turning what I’ve seen into something simpler to use.
At Edenred
I’ve spent the past six years at Edenred. The first three at Edenred France, in UX/UI across four platforms. I rebuilt one of them from scratch in under three months. Then I moved to head office for a fifth product, an international one this time: the merchant portal. I’ve been its only designer for three years, from the first interview all the way to launch. What six years with the same employer gave me is a memory of the product. I know where the rules come from and who asked for them.
Before that
I trained at Gobelins, in interactive design and then a master’s in design and management of interactive innovation. I spent the last two years of it on a work-study contract at Edenred, which is why my first school projects and my first years on a product overlap. The three 3D worlds on the Interactive experiences page come from there.
Around me
Around me there are POs, developers, a research team, and the designers working on the other products, who I talk to a lot, in cross-team workshops and in passing. My case studies tell my decisions, and those decisions were made in those conversations.
Blind spots
What I like best are the moments people tend to overlook: the error screen, the person who comes back after six months having forgotten everything, the odd case nobody planned for. That’s often where a product is won or lost, and I like being the one who takes care of it.
A little code
I designed and built this site myself, with no framework and with a coding assistant. It changes the way I work with developers: I know what I am asking them for, I can see when an idea is going to cost them, and the prototypes you can click in my case studies are real code rather than a picture dropped in.
No figures
You won’t find any Edenred figures on this site: that data isn’t mine, and I’d rather not take it out of the company. What I show is the decisions, the screens, and what the tests taught us.
Outside work
And otherwise, I’ve painted in oils and watercolour for a long time. I really enjoy going to exhibitions, and doing creative workshops, for the pleasure of making things by hand.
